Missing Link

The first incarnation of Missing Link was formed by Michael Stützer in 1988 when Artillery was on a hiatus, waiting for the album Terror Squad to be released.

Michael found his team-players in vocalist/bassist Jesper Egelykke [ex Take-Off] and drummer Ole Frausing [ex Devil's Symphony/Mercyful Fate]. The band was soon augmented with vocalist Mick Sonne [ex Wasted] and guitarist Allan Sørensen [ex Wasted]. In 1989, this version of Missing Link split up as Artillery resumed activity.

In 1991, Michael Stützer left Artillery while he and Ole Frausing reactivated Missing Link with Thomas Falkenstein [ex Hatred], guitarist Allan Andersen [ex Mental Decay/Conspiracy] and bassist Sammy Kjeldsen [ex Raindance]. This line-up cut the demo Yet to Be Born with producer John Kronholm. Kjeldsen was subsequently replaced by Henrik Palme [ex Mental Decay].

In 1992, Missing Link released the demo Non Fiction with producer Casper Strandbygård.

in 1993, Falkenstein and Palme left the band who continued with vocalist René Strunch [ex Dr.Weird/Blind Mirror] andd bassist Michael Jensen. After five months, Michael’s brother Morten became the new bass player in Missing Link.

In 1995, the band began recording their first full-length When the Door Is Closed with producer Finn Jansen. Morten and Michael shared bass duties on the album, while Morten provided a few guitar solos. Former Artillery-guitarist Samir Belmaati likewise provided a guitar-solo for a single track on the album, and Allan Andersen left after having recorded a few solos.

Frausing was then substituted with Sven Olsen [ex Virgin], and the band moreover employed bassist Niels Skovgaard [ex Take-Off], in order for Morten to fully concentrate on the guitar.

Later that year, the band covered Slade’s classic Christmas hit "Merry X-Mas Everybody" on a 4-track EP, which was released in November the same year.

in 1997, Missing Link recorded Lobotomized with producer Flemmig Rasmussen, who had also produced Artillery’s By Inheritance.

In 1998, Skovgaard was superseeded with Erik Wolff [ex Toxik Karizma], but the band soon split up.

Michael and Morten rejoined forces in Artillery, obviously. Strunch, however, joined Jackcracker.
